‘P-Valley’ First Look: A New Era in Chucalissa and for Lil’ Murda

From the moment he dropped his raw, emotional tracks on stage at The Pynk, Lil’ Murda has represented one of the most compelling, complex depictions of Black Southern hip-hop, masculinity and unapologetic love on television.

As STARZ prepares to drop the third and final season of P-Valley, actor J. Alphonse Nicholson takes center stage, leading a transformative farewell arc that puts Lil’ Murda’s music career, identity and survival at the heart of the narrative.

In the newly released teaser trailer for the final chapter, Lil’ Murda is front and center as he aggressively pursues rap stardom while fully stepping into his truth alongside his beloved Uncle Clifford.

But as Murda’s star ascends, the shadows of his past loom large. His deep-rooted gang affiliations threaten to clip his wings just as he’s about to soar, igniting escalating tensions and a threat of violence that ripples across Chucalissa. Against the backdrop of a booming new casino, Murda walks a high wire—balancing authentic love, street politics, and the relentless drive for hip-hop immortality.

Season two laid the groundwork for this pivotal rise, tracking Murda’s undeniable talent and evolving romance with Uncle Clifford as he navigated the pressures of early fame while staying anchored to his roots.

As he continues this high-stakes journey, Chucalissa’s core residents undergo major shifts: Mercedes fights to build a future beyond the pole, Keyshawn seeks freedom for her family, and Roulette claims new power inside the club.

Returning alongside Nicholson for the final bow are Nicco Annan as Uncle Clifford, Brandee Evans as Mercedes, Shannon Thornton as Keyshawn, Harriett D. Foy as Mayor Woodbine, Dan J. Johnson as Corbin, Gail Bean as Roulette, screen legend Loretta Devine as Ernestine and more.

Helmed by creator, executive producer, and Pulitzer Prize winner Katori Hall, the final season of P-Valley promises a powerful, culturally resonant sendoff for one of television’s most iconic characters. Hall directs five episodes this season, including the two-part premiere.

The third and final season debuts with a double-episode premiere on Friday, December 4, with new episodes streaming weekly on Fridays on the STARZ app and on-demand platforms.
