Naturi Naughton-Lewis Steps Into Her Executive Era With Latest Starz Series — Exclusive Interview

When EBONY ran into Naturi Naughton-Lewis at the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival this past August, the entertainment powerhouse, who’s played everything from Lil’ Kim to a perfectionist OBGYN, hinted at a big project she’d be dropping in the next year. And boy, is this one about to shake up the 2026 TV lineup.

Naughton-Lewis is returning to Starz, which has just announced its pickup of The Nowhere Man, its latest action-packed thriller, set to premiere on the network in January 2026. For this project, Naughton-Lewis isn’t just on camera; she is behind the lens as one of the series’ executive producers.

The story centers around Lukas, a former Special Forces mercenary with PTSD. When he witnesses a home invasion, he’s compelled to intervene, but the choice drags him back into a world he’s spent years trying to escape. Bonko Khoza, who appeared in the 2022 film The Woman King, stars in the leading role.

Naughton-Lewis plays Ruby, an American woman running an orphanage abroad. “I have a special connection with Lukas,” she revealed to EBONY exclusively. “This is an exciting, action-packed show that I think also ignites empathy. Hopefully, it makes people feel connected, not just on a national level but also globally.”

This series isn’t taking us racing through the streets of New York City or our nation’s capital. It’s set in Johannesburg, South Africa, and was shot across the African country’s landscape. “I loved shooting in South Africa,” she exclaimed.

“I’ve been there before, but working with the Motion Story team and Bonko and the crew there was incredible! Not only is South Africa beautiful, but shooting there was so wonderful. I felt at peace, loved the people and communities, and it was nice to see giraffes, gazelles and other gorgeous animals on my way to work.”

This latest project is a family affair: Naughton-Lewis and her husband, Two Lewis, worked on the series through their entertainment arm. “I’m thrilled to have my company, Take Two Entertainment, as part of this incredible team,” Naughton-Lewis shared, adding it’s part of her evolution as an actor and producer.

She’s also thrilled to be back home. Naughton starred as drug kingpin wife Tasha St. Patrick on the 50-Cent helmed franchise, Power and Power Book II: Ghost. “I’m excited to work with Starz again, but even more excited to be working with them in a different way,” she stated. “Not only am I an actress, but I am part of the producing team, and that’s pretty cool. Grateful that they’ve supported my #PowerMoves (pun intended). ‘Tasha”’ is out here doing big things!”

Naughton-Lewis has been flexing her performance muscles across television. She was most recently seen in the two-part movie adaptation of Eric Jerome Dickey’s Friends and Lovers, which aired on Lifetime in November 2025.
