Director Nia DaCoasta, fresh from receiving accolades from The Gotham Awards for her 1950s-updated, Black-woman coded version of Hedda, has dropped another film trailer. She’s directing 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, the second film in the 28 Years Later trilogy, which will be released in January 2026.
The film stars Ralph Fiennes as Dr. Ian Kelson, an infected slayer who believes he’s found a cure for the virus. In an interview with Total Film, DaCosta gushed that she’s a huge fan of the original film, 28 Days Later, and felt very protective of its legacy. She’s also stated that she’s made this second piece in her own style, which includes adding more of The Infected. Seems like she likes a challenge! She is the second director and first woman to helm one of the films in the 28 Years franchise.
Megan Thee Stallion Wins Defamation Suit

Megan Thee Stallion has the law on her side. The “Body” singer has won her defamation lawsuit against blogger Milagro Gramz, whose real name is Milagro Elizabeth Cooper, a social media commentator and YouTuber. In the civil case, the jury found Gramz liable for defaming Megan in a coordinated online harassment campaign targeting the rapper, which included false claims that Megan was a paid surrogate for Tory Lanez and promoted a deepfake video. These actions, the court ruled, caused emotional distress and damaged Megan’s reputation.
Defamation, in legal terms, refers to false statements presented as fact that harm another person’s reputation, and the jury agreed that Gramz’s conduct met the standard. The verdict has ignited debate among legal experts and digital commentators about the limits of free speech online.
Free speech is a cornerstone of American Law; however, this case showcases how misinformation and harassment cross over into litigious territory. Many legal experts have stated that this case will set a precedent regarding the rights and limitations of online influencers and perceived harmful content.
Coco Jones to Perform at Super Bowl LX

Coco Jones is taking on a newly honored tradition for Super Bowl ceremonies. The soon-to-be Bel Air alum has been tapped to sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing” at the competition’s pre-game ceremonies at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clarita, California.
Jones, who performed at the EBONY Power 100 Gala in 2024, partnered with the NFL and Roc Nation on the official announcement. The actress and singer shared a message on social media, stating, “We’re bringing the energy to Super Bowl VX.” The Black National Anthem has been a part of the Super Bowl pre-game ceremonies since 2021, when Alicia Keys performed a pre-recorded version ahead of Super Bowl LV. The highly anticipated game, which will feature Bad Bunny in its halftime performance, will take place on February 8, 2026, and air live on NBC.
Cory Booker Weds Over Thanksgiving Weekend

Cory Booker is officially a married man. The congressman wed Alexis Lewis in not one, but two ceremonies over the Thanksgiving 2025 weekend, one in Washington, D.C. and one in New Jersey, where he represents the state in the U.S. Senate.
“Overflowing with gratitude. We said, ‘I do’ in two places that shaped us—Cory’s beloved Newark and Alexis’s hometown of Washington, D.C.—first at the courthouse, then with our families,” Booker posted on Instagram with a series of photos from the two ceremonies. “Hearts full and so grateful.”
Booker met Lewis, vice president of investments at Brasa Capital Management, a real estate investment firm, in 2024. After a short and brilliant courtship, the congressman announced their engagement this past September.
As the happy union brings Booker’s longtime status as a bachelor to an end — he has been romantically linked to actress Rosario Dawson and poet “Instagram poet” Cleo Wade — many are speculating that the marriage will bolster his profile if he chooses to run for president in 2028. No sitting president has been unmarried since the 1800s.
