Black-owned brand Telfar is known for giving us what we want. After collaborating with brands like Moose Knuckles and UGG, the popular fashion and accessories company has decided to team up with Melissa Shoes for a collaboration straight from our childhood.
If you don’t remember it, the Brazilian shoe company was a hit in the late 90s and early 2000s for its women’s rubber-like clear sandals, otherwise known as jellies. It was also well-known for its fashion-forward see-through sneakers that young women couldn’t get enough of during that time period—hello butterfly clips, glitter tees, and loads of cherry-scented lip gloss. Over the years Melissa has also designed capsule collections with brands such as Fila, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and most recently Marc Jacobs.
Included in the Telfar x Melissa Shoes summer drop are see-through shoppers—the bags Telfar is most recognized for—and jelly-inspired sandals perfect for this blazing summer heat we’re all experiencing. Featuring fluid lines and tubular construction all molded using Melissa’s exclusive and sustainable Melflex materials, this crystal clear collection is totally concert and festival compliant—making it an instant staple for your summer wardrobe.
Prices range up to $250 and can be purchased exclusively on telfar.net, on shopmelissa.com starting July 17, 2023, and Galeria Melissa in New York. Check out the collection below.
