
After dominating the box office, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners has spent the 2026 awards season doing something just as impressive: sweeping trophies across Hollywood and beyond.
The film has collected more than 60 awards across critics groups, guilds and major award ceremonies, with Michael B. Jordan, Wunmi Mosaku and breakout star Miles Caton earning major recognition along the way. Composer Ludwig Göransson’s score and Coogler’s screenplay have also racked up an impressive number of wins.
Before 2026 even started, Sinners cleaned up with several accolades from local critics and journalist associations, including the Washington D.C. Area Film Critics Association Awards, the Phoenix Film Critics Society Awards, the Indiana Film Journalists Association Awards, and the Gotham Awards in New York City, as well as across the sea with the Dublin Film Critics Circle Awards. It was also honored at the Critics Choice Association 8th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema & Television.
With the 98th Academy Awards airing March 15, and Sinners leading the pack with an unprecedented 16 nominations, here’s your guide to many honors the film’s cast and creatives have collected across this awards season.
Critics Choice Awards — January 4
Sinners entered the 31st Annual Critics Choice Awards with a leading 17 nominations and left with four trophies.
