They say love makes you want to sing from the rafters. And that certainly seems to be true for Megan Thee Stallion. The “Savage” singer has just announced her latest single, “Lover Girl,” which will hit airwaves on October 24.

Megan Thee Stallion alerted fans that her latest song was on its way with a late-night post on Instagram. She teased its release with red talon nails holding a lollipop, to the tune of 1.9 million views overnight.
The announcement comes after a relatively quiet period of music releases from the singer, who has only released one other single, “Whenever,” this year. Megan did give a sneak peek that she was back in the studio earlier this month. With more romantic sounds — she actually teased a sample of “Kissin’ You” by the 1990s R&B group Total, — it seems the Hot Girl Coach is moving into a more sensual vibe.
So, why the change from the singer’s sharper-edged rap anthems? ‘Cause she got a new man in her life.
Megan and Klay Thompson first got fans talking in July 2025 with their summer vacation soft launch. Thompson, who’s on the Dallas Mavericks basketball team, was spotted poolside in the background of one of Megan’s Instagram posts. The couple made their first official public appearance at her Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in July, showing up on the carpet in complementary outfits. During the event, Megan told Page Six that Thompson was “genuinely a nice person” and made her “genuinely happy.”
While Megan’s brand has been built on her fierce independence and stance for female empowerment, it seems she’s finding the time and space to incorporate love and vulnerability into her life. “Lover Girl” could be the turning point in her career and tone, taking this hot girl to a full-grown woman in love.
