Kickstarter and Tubi have launched the FilmStream Collective, a partnership that provides independent filmmakers with funding and guaranteed distribution. This collection highlights dozens of Kickstarter-backed projects, ranging from horror to compelling documentaries. It highlights the diversity of independent filmmaking, focusing on the importance of independent filmmaking, featuring women, Black creators, LGBTQ+ storytellers, and first-time directors who are finally receiving the recognition they deserve.
The FilmStream Collective highlights these films to celebrate the creativity and innovation of independent filmmakers and to inspire a new generation of creators to follow their artistic visions. “Our mission has always been to help people bring their creative projects to life,” said Power 100 honoree Everette Taylor, Kickstarter’s Chief Executive Officer, in a statement. “Fulfilling that mission means reaching beyond our core crowdfunding service, finding aligned partners like Tubi who want to collaborate on reducing the barriers that stand in the way of creatives bringing their ideas to life. Together, we’re building a new opportunity for filmmakers to share their work with global audiences and get the visibility they deserve.”

Each film is debuting on Tubi after being selected for the FilmStream Collective, an initiative launched by Kickstarter and Tubi in June 2025. Among the films debuting on Tubi: The Geechee Witch, God Said Give ’Em Drum Machines, and The Decedent and Don’t Trip.
