Here’s the Leo Season Lessons to Know

Every zodiac sign has a few things to teach us about living our best lives. One of my favorites among the “Leo lessons” is the reminder that we are special and that we are here to shine individually. We are the queens and kings of our own personal kingdoms. High-vibrational Leo energy is heart-centered and love-centered. Loving yourself (without ego intention, but rather heart intention) provides capacity to be more loving to others. This energy is the opposite of dimming your shine or the shine of others.

Speaking of love, Leo literally rules the heart…as well as children, creativity, play, fun, romance. Regardless of whether you’re a Leo or not, there is a house in your chart that is ruled by Leo. The meaning of that house is connected to your capacity to love, to create, to have fun, to play, simply to enjoy life.

What to Expect for Leo Season

Every sign has a ruling planet and Leo’s ruling planet happens to be the Sun, the ultimate spotlight. Leo is the only sign ruled by the Sun, so it isn’t that much of a surprise that words like warmth, radiance, magnetic, bold and confident are linked to this fire sign. Those with strong Leo energy in their chart (sun, moon, rising, or a stellium in Leo) tend to get noticed whether they’re looking for attention or not. Leo energy can put all eyes on YOU.

As for the current August astrology, the big news about this 2026 Leo season includes eclipses. There are two kinds of eclipses, a solar eclipse (new moon) and a lunar eclipse (full moon). We have new and full moons every month, but when the North and South nodes (special points in the sky) are nearby, now we’re talking about eclipses.

When the moon eclipses the sun (solar eclipse), we have darkness in the daylight, the moon blocks the sun’s rays. During a lunar eclipse (full moon) the sky is darker than usual and the moon takes on a reddish color. Eclipses carry heavy symbolic weight because they’re startling—the sky is doing something it’s not supposed to do.

The solar eclipse is on August 12^th, a major question you might want to ask yourself is: What happens if I let go of my ego, or release what isn’t working for me? On August 27^th we have the lunar eclipse, on that day you might want to ask yourself: what have I been trying to fix that just needs acceptance? There’s nothing to be afraid of here.
