The legendary shades, the infamous jacket…your favorite detective is back on the beat! In this 40-year-old iconic franchise, Eddie Murphy’s Axel Foley brings the heat and laughs to Netflix on July 3 with Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, the franchise’s long-awaited fourth installment.

When speaking of his return to the series and teaming up with the film’s original producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, Murphy says, “He put all the pieces in place for us that were required for us to make a great movie. And I’m excited for people to see it.”

This is the first return to the trilogy since 1994, and it hosts many familiar faces that enthusiasts of the original triad will be pleased to see. Netflix is keeping details about the plot under wraps, but we know that we can expect Murphy to give all of himself. “Anytime he walks on set, you never know what you are going to get. It’s pretty brilliant. Every day he’s there, he throws you back to the ‘80s” Bruckheimer exclaims.

With a modern-day flair, this fan-favorite is a blast from the past. Newcomers to the movie are thrust into the action as the film unfolds in the present day, returning to the City of Angels. This new installment of the blockbuster series promises a rollercoaster of emotions, from laughter to tears, offering a truly immersive cinematic experience. “It’s about the emotion. No matter how funny it is, how much great action it has, it’s all about the heartstrings,” Bruckheimer continues.
