North West and Natalie Nunn Dressed Up as Each Other for Halloween

North West has officially entered the Halloween chat, and apparently, nobody saw this one coming. While most celebrity kids might reach for a pop star or superhero, the 13-year-old decided to channel reality television’s very own Natalie Nunn. Yes, that Natalie Nunn, the former Bad Girls Club star turned executive producer and face of Zeus Network’s Baddies franchise. But just when the internet thought North had won Halloween, Nunn pulled an Uno reverse card and dressed up as North herself. The unexpected costume exchange had social media in stitches.

On October 21, the eldest daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West unveiled her costume, complete with a sleek black bob, dramatic lashes, a Zeus Network tank top, miniskirt and sparkling “CEO Baddies” necklace. The accessory that really sent social media into a frenzy was an exaggerated prosthetic chin, a playful nod to Nunn’s recognizable profile. North even incorporated Nicki Minaj’s verse from Lil Uzi Vert’s “Endless Fashion,” which famously references Nunn, into her reveal.

Not one to let a good joke go unanswered, Nunn returned the favor by transforming into North. Naturally, the internet had a field day, praising the unexpected pairing and their willingness to poke fun at each other. But because this is the internet, a Halloween costume couldn’t simply remain a Halloween costume.

Amid the laughter came another question: “Why does North even know who Natalie Nunn is?” The concern stems from Nunn’s association with Baddies, a reality series known for explosive confrontations, adult language and physical altercations. The show certainly isn’t marketed toward children, prompting some social media users to question whether North should be familiar with its leading lady.

It’s a fair conversation about age-appropriate entertainment, but have we collectively forgotten what it was like to be teenagers?

For generations, young people have consumed entertainment that wasn’t created with their age demographic in mind. Millennials grew up sneaking episodes of The Real World, Flavor of Love and Bad Girls Club, while Gen Z discovered reality television through viral clips and social media. Long before TikTok, teenagers were quoting television personalities and memorizing inappropriate song lyrics their parents probably wished they knew nothing about.

And knowing Natalie Nunn doesn’t automatically mean North watches Baddies. Between viral soundbites, memes and music references, it’s entirely possible to recognize a reality star without being a dedicated viewer. That distinction seems to have gotten lost somewhere between the jokes and unsolicited parenting advice.

North has spent much of her childhood in the public eye, with everything from her fashion choices to her hairstyles becoming subjects of debate. Her increasingly experimental approach to personal style demonstrates a creative identity that embraces humor, exaggeration and the pop culture references that resonate with her generation.

Parents can decide what entertainment is appropriate for their children, and viewers are entitled to their opinions. But opinions aren’t facts, and a teenager dressing up as a recognizable television personality isn’t proof of what she watches behind closed doors.

Halloween is supposed to be about creativity, humor and having fun. North and Nunn accomplished all three before October 31. Sometimes a Halloween costume is simply a Halloween costume, and this one happened to be hilarious.
