The first pics from Why Did I Get Married?, the long-running film franchise from Tyler Perry, have dropped.
In this latest installment, the film’s favorite couples reunite in celebration as Marcus and Angela’s daughter prepares to tie the knot. After being apart for quite some time, they quickly learn that, as much as things change, they stay the same, leading to the age-old question, “Why did they get married… again?”
The cast includes Academy Award-nominated actress Taraji P. Henson in the third installment of the film series, alongside original cast members Tasha Smith, Sharon Leal, Michael Jai White, Lamman Rucker and Jill Scott. Perry, who is returning to his role in the series, also wrote, produced and directed the film, which premieres on Netflix September 9.

Released in 2007, the film revolves around four married couples that head to Colorado for a couples’ retreat. They’ve got plenty of luggage and a whole lotta baggage in tow for this eye-opening vacation. One couple’s infidelity will cause the entire group to confront secrets, lies and betrayals in their own relationships, and explore what it takes to find and offer forgiveness. The couples are back, this time in the Bahamas. The weather is hotter, and so is the relationship drama. The couples deal with financial troubles, resurfacing exes, career and family turmoil and a tragic event that will leave them all reeling.
