First‑time Emmy nominees Yahya Abdul‑Mateen II, Chase Infiniti, Joy Sunday and Ernest Harden, Jr. are celebrating major career milestones today. The four actors earned their inaugural Primetime Emmy nominations as the 78th Emmy contenders were announced this morning in Los Angeles.
Sunday is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie for DTF: St. Louis. Infiniti, known for her award-winning work in One Battle After Another, has been nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series for The Testaments. Abdul‑Mateen II is nominated for Lead Actor In A Comedy Series for WonderMan, while veteran actor Ernest Harden, Jr. has been nominated in the Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series category for his work on The Pitt, his first Emmy nomination.
The Bear’s Lisa Colon-Zayas co-announced this year’s Emmy nominees, which included nods in the leading drama and comedy categories. Abbott Elementary has been nominated for its fourth Emmy as Outstanding Comedy Series. Showrunner and star Quinta Brunson has once again been nominated for Lead Actress In A Comedy Series, along with Ayo Edibiri, who has been nominated for her work in the dramedy The Bear.
Zendaya will once again compete in the Lead Actress In A Drama Series category for her final season of Euphoria. Sterling K. Brown is back with an Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series nomination for his work in Paradise. The series has been nominated for Outstanding Lead Drama Series, along with The Gilded Age, The Pitt and several other dramatic series.
Tyler James Williams is again recognized in the Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series for his work in Abbott Elementary. Williams’ co-star Janelle James has received her fourth consecutive Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series category for her work, alongside Shrinking star Jessica Williams, who is on her second nomination.
Colman Domingo has been recognized in two categories: Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series for his work in Four Seasons. Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series for Euphoria. Ernest Harden, Jr. has also been recognized in the category for his work on The Pitt.
The 78th Primetime Emmys will air live on Monday, September 14, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and stream on Peacock.
