The Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2027 Is Here—Here’s How the Honorees Reacted

Hollywood Boulevard is about to get a fresh dose of Black excellence. The Hollywood Walk of Fame has announced its 2027 class, and several influential Black actors, musicians and media personalities are among those set to receive stars on the famed boulevard. Naturally, many took to Instagram to celebrate the career-defining honor.

Keke Palmer, who’s being recognized for her lasting impact on television, shared the moment she received the phone call that she’ll soon join the legendary names lining one of Hollywood’s most iconic streets. “Thank you so much to the @hollywoodchamberofcommerce, my team, and the people that have built me up and helped me get to this incredible place,” she wrote.

Raven-Symoné, also being recognized in the television category, reposted the message and added a simple caption, “Yeah, that’s me.”

Fellow television honoree David Alan Grier kept it classy, posting NBCUniversal’s official congratulations message featuring his photo.

Fleshing out the music category, hip-hop pioneer Joseph “Grandmaster Flash” replayed the official announcement of the honorees. In his quote, he wrote, “Honored to be included in the 2027 class of the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” and stated he’d be celebrating with a live appearance on WBLS as well as on his website. Recording artist and rap icon Lil Wayne will also be honored.

Media personality Lenard “Charlamagne tha God” McKelvey, best known for his work on The Breakfast Club, is also receiving an honor for Radio. “Gratitude to the @hollywoodchamberofcommerce,” he declared on Insta. “3 Things I Need You To Know About Me. 1) I Was Raised On A Dirt Road in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. 2) I am worthy of the best things in life, and I now lovingly allow myself to accept it. 3) I TRULY THANK GOD FOR IT ALL!!!!”

Fresh off a banner year that included widespread acclaim for his performance in Sinners, Delroy Lindo will receive a star in the Motion Pictures category alongside multi-hyphenate Idris Elba, whose decades-long career has spanned blockbuster films, acclaimed television roles and producing.

For more than six decades, the Hollywood Walk of Fame has served as one of entertainment’s most recognizable symbols of achievement. Operated by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and maintained by the Hollywood Historic Trust, the landmark stretches along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street, where more than 2,800 terrazzo-and-brass stars honor performers, musicians, directors, producers and other entertainment legends.

And fun fact: stars aren’t simply handed out. They’re awarded through a nomination and selection process, and each honoree’s sponsor pays an $85,000 fee that covers the creation, installation, unveiling ceremony and lifelong maintenance of the landmark.

The class will celebrate individual unveiling ceremonies over the next two years, giving fans plenty of opportunities to watch these talented individuals cement their place in Hollywood history, with their own shining star.

Congratulations to all the nominees.
