Jordyn Woods’ Orange Bag and Other Celeb Rituals Fueling the NY Knicks’ NBA Finals

The New York Knicks are officially one away from winning their first NBA championship since 1973, after a nail-biting Game 4, where the Knicks overcame a 29-point deficit for a final score of Knicks 107 – San Antonio Spurs 106. Fans have been doing everything they can to help their Knicks win that prized Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy: lucky charms, same-wear gear, pregame rituals and one of the most talked about accessories in NBA arenas: Jordyn Woods’ orange bag.

Woods, who is engaged to Knicks center-forward Karl-Anthony Towns, has been a courtside fixture at his games, carrying her bright orange Tux Clutch ‘Summer Citrus’ mini from her brand Woods by Jordan during multiple Knicks wins, prompting social media to declare it a good luck charm. Fans quickly coined it as a Knicks-win good luck charm.

And then came Game 3. Security was heightened due to Donald Trump’s attendance at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. According to reports, a strict no-bag policy was in place for the president’s attendance, and Woods was not allowed to bring the hallowed bag into the arena. The Knicks lost that game.

After Game 3, several Knicks fans waved sage outside New York City’s Madison Square Garden to clear out any negative, losing vibes. More importantly, Woods’ bag was back for Game 4 — and the Knicks bounced back.

She isn’t the only celeb with their own rituals to help the Knicks stay on top.

Lifelong Knicks fan Spike Lee has been wearing his prized 1970 Knicks championship ring on a chain around his neck for every game.

There’s Fat Joe, who has been reciting specific prayers before the tip-off to help his team win. John Leguizamo has maintained a strict routine of eating dinner at Madison Square Garden and eating a chocolate biscotti during every game.

We’re not saying the bag, and these other moves have won the games. But when a title is this close, carrying the same orange bag held and eating biscotti certainly can’t hurt their chances.

New York Knicks vs. San Antonio Spurs, Game 5, will take place on Saturday, June 13, at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.
