Every year, around Mar 20-21, the Earth and the Sun line up in a very specific way: a configuration that results in equal parts day and night. We refer to this day as the Spring Equinox. It’s an astronomical phenomenon with astrological meaning—this is now Aries season, the beginning of the zodiac, the first day of spring, the start of longer, sunnier days…a time to RESET.
This year’s Equinox occurs on March 20th, which also happens to be the last day of Mercury retrograding in Pisces. So, as we gear up to start a new one, we can also look forward to more clarity and less confusion in communication. As we set our souls on this new astrological year, we can also be grateful that a mental fog is lifting. We can see and understand things (a little more) clearly now.
Astrologically speaking, the point of focus will be on the part of your chart where Aries resides. Aries is a fire sign, it is ruled by Mars and is associated with courage, action, self-sufficiency, impulsiveness, initiation, a pioneering spirit, sharp objects, swagger, and war (just to name a few). The Sun, Moon, Venus, Saturn and Neptune (even Chiron) will ALL be in the sign of Aries on March 20…that’s a lot of Aries energy.

Gemini:
Who gives you life? And who doesn’t? Pick your friends like you pick your fruit…and that goes for the associations and clubs you roll with as well. Remember: you’re the sum of the five folks you spend the most time with, so edit well. This is also a good time to focus on personal finances, investing in yourself, your talent, and your self-worth. Take that class, make the investment, buy a lotto ticket!
Cancer:
You may get the job of your dreams, or you may get fired, but either way…lucky you. And that’s the truth. It’s time to trust the universe and know that whatever happens now can have a long-term, positive effect on your career or public reputation. You may not be able to see exactly what’s around the corner, but your internal GPS is working in your favor, so listen to it.
Leo:
You may feel like traveling…. physically, mentally, spiritually, perhaps some combination of the above. So, whether it’s a bucket list trip to the Serengeti, getting a yoga certification or applying for that PhD program, embrace the urge to expand your horizons. This doesn’t have to be a grand excursion: learn a new language, try a foreign dish or read something transformative. Your soul will thank you.
Virgo:
You like for life to make sense, but sometimes our deepest, innermost thoughts and feelings aren’t so easily labeled or understood. Time for some shadow work. You can’t sidestep yourself. The good news is that there are supportive systems in your life, people and experts that are closer than you think. Use that sharp mind of yours to snuff out the perfect support for your personality.
Libra:
Your personal relationships take center stage now, and you happen to be good at diplomacy and smoothing things over. That said, try to be a little more straightforward. Your best friend, business partner, significant other, etc, will appreciate honesty over avoidance or bypassing. Sagittarius:
What (or who) gives you joy? Do you devote time to these things, or spend time with these people? Before we talk about other folks, the center of all of this is self-love. That’s paramount to creating, sharing and experiencing joy. The most important thing you can do right now is to cherish yourself. Learn how to love yourself, so you can create from the heart and share it with the world.
Capricorn:
Home is where the heart is (for most; for others, there may be some trauma). If nothing else, your ancestors gave you your life, so be grateful for that. Family life, and/or property and real estate issues, take center stage now. Your relatives may need you more now, so show up and be your best self. This could also be an auspicious time to meet a significant other…Keep your eyes peeled.
Aquarius:
Are you an efficient communicator? Do you think you’re understood by the people that matter most to you? What might you do to improve your communication skills? Could you be a more active listener? Maybe put your phone down at dinner? This is all food for thought. You care about humanity, but humans sometimes get on your nerves. Just know that at the end of the day, compassion (for yourself and others) goes a very long way.
Pisces:
Make a list of the things that are most important to you…a list of things that money can’t buy. Maybe it’s your talents, your ability to make people laugh or swoon over your homemade meals…Maybe it’s the love you received that gave you the confidence to beat all odds. Despite all your material desires, keep this list and come back to it often. Understand that you’re not rich until you have things that money can’t buy.
