Gizelle Bryant and Angelina Jolie Bond Over Their Proudest Role: Mom

Angelina Jolie and Gizelle Bryant may come from completely different sides of the entertainment world. But motherhood is a great equalizer.

The Oscar winner and TV reality standout found themselves in the same room on April 27 to celebrate their daughters at an Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. mother-daughter luncheon in Atlanta.

Jolie was there to support her daughter, Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, a Spelman College senior, who gave a touching speech praising Jolie as a “selfless” role model.

“I’m a strong woman because a strong woman raised me,” Zahara said before thanking her mother directly.

Gizelle Bryant, who has proudly watched her twin daughters become members of the prestigious service organization, also attended the festivities, beaming with the same sense of pride over her daughter.

There was no air of an Academy Award-winning star being in the room, or a woman who commands dramatic screen time on The Real Housewives of the Potomac. In this moment, both were fully present to celebrate the beautiful young women they raised in an afternoon devoted to the most important role they play: proud moms.

Held at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park, the event brought together families and other notable guests for a sorority celebration hosted by the Pearls for Purpose Foundation and the Nu Lambda Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Zahara joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in 2023, during her sophomore year at Spellman, stepping into its legacy of sisterhood and service. Bryant’s two daughters, Angel and Adore, are continuing their mother’s legacy. Angel joined the Mu Pi chapter at Spelman College in November 2025, while Adore joined the Gamma Theta chapter at Hampton University in 2026.

Bryant shared a photo of her daughter Adore, who joined the sorority in the same chapter and at the same school as her mother, recreating an on-campus moment of her mom from 1990.
