From anniversaries to the red carpet and the field, these celebs are keeping us in check on how Black love shines.
LeBron and Savannah James’ Anniversary Moment
LeBron and Savannah James marked a special moment on September 14: their 13th wedding anniversary. The newly minted Philadelphia 76er marked the occasion on his Instagram with a cute shot of the two, followed by an intimate boomerang of them lying in bed together, with a funny and poignant message: “HAPPY BAKERS DOZEN ANNIVERSARY MY QUEEN!!! Til the wheels fall off and then I’ll Fred Flintstone that b#&@^ afterward! LOVE YOU MAMA!!”
Together since high school, LeBron and Savannah married on September 14, 2013, at the Grand Del Mar Hotel in San Diego, California. LeBron has shared three rules that have kept his marriage strong and healthy, which he revealed on the 360 Speedy podcast: that communication is key, and you must talk things out; following a pattern of honesty and telling each other the truth and accepting that it’s OK to be uncomfortable, because marriage demands compromise, which isn’t always easy.
Sterling K. Brown’s Emmy Win
He didn’t walk away with an official statue at the 78th Emmy Awards, but Sterling K. Brown still won the night for love. He hit the award ceremony red carpet with his beautiful wife, fellow actor Ryan Michelle Bathé, where the two did a little romantic twirl for the E! News cam. The couple is celebrating 20 years of marriage this year, after eloping in March 2006. They’re an award-winning blueprint for a successful, long marriage, but Brown is the first to admit it takes work. “People see us on the red carpet and think, ‘goals.’ But chile, please… it takes work. We want to be honest about that,” Brown said in his 2025 EBONY cover interview. “We used to let things linger. Now we apologize faster. We laugh more. We keep choosing each other.”
Simone Biles at the Yard Line
Jonathan Owens has spent countless hours cheering on his Olympic gold medalist wife, Simone Biles… now she gets to return the favor. She was front and center to support her husband of three years for his first game as an Indianapolis Colts player against the Baltimore Ravens at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. While the Colts didn’t win, Biles and Owens definitely take home top praise for the cutest couple in coordinated outfits.
