Angel’s Envy Brings the Bourbon Experience Alive in Louisville

In Louisville, Kentucky, bourbon is a way of life. Angel’s Envy has been dedicated to maintaining that tradition while honoring the rich history behind the city’s most revered spirit.

Located on Louisville’s iconic Whiskey Row, Angel’s Envy recognized the growing desire from both the community and visitors to witness production up close, leading to a major expansion in 2022.

Today, as the most-visited distillery downtown, the space welcomes nearly 155,000 guests annually and has become a cornerstone of the city’s booming bourbon tourism. It’s a destination that shouldn’t be missed.

“There’s something powerful about inviting people into the place where our whiskey comes to life,” said master distiller Owen Martin. “The conversations we have here shape how we continue to evolve.”

By opening its doors—literally—to a broad audience, Angel’s Envy is allowing the community to feel intimately connected to its presence. “We deliver best-in-class bourbon experiences in Louisville,” Martin exclaimed with pride. So much more than a complimentary pour, Angel’s Envy allows its visitors to witness the process and the people behind the curtain, making it feel accessible to everyone. As tourism continues to surge, Angel’s Envy has consistently evolved its immersive experiences, offering intimate tours that educate as much as they entertain.

Indeed, the story of whiskey is inseparable from the contributions of the Black community, whose labor and expertise shaped the craft, refined its techniques, and built the foundation that defines Kentucky’s bourbon industry today. While that history hasn’t always been fully acknowledged, it remains embedded in every barrel and every pour.

As Angel’s Envy celebrates 10 years on historic Whiskey Row this November, the milestone offers a moment not only to reflect on the brand’s own evolution, but also on the broader story of Kentucky bourbon — one shaped by generations of Black distillers, laborers, and craftsmen whose impact continues to influence the industry.

In a city where culture, labor, and creativity have long shaped its identity, Angel’s Envy is the modern evolution of bourbon, one that invites more people into its story as it continues to refine the craft itself.

That philosophy comes to life in the brand’s 2026 Cask Strength Dual Release, a milestone offering that brings together its annual Cask Strength Bourbon with a first-of-its-kind 10-Year Cask Strength Rye.

Angel’s Envy has taken bourbon’s deep-rooted heritage and reimagined it through secondary cask finishing and refined blending — an approach that reaches new depth and intensity in this year’s Cask Strength Dual Release.

“Since each release builds on the one before it, we’re able to create a bourbon with real depth and continuity; something that evolves rather than resets,” said Martin. “The extended finishing in ruby port barrels enhances both structure and richness, resulting in a bold, layered expression that’s powerful, polished, and distinctly Angel’s Envy.”

Alongside it, the debut 10-Year Cask Strength Rye — aged for at least a decade and finished in Caribbean rum casks — marks the brand’s first age-stated rye at cask strength. Together, the limited releases showcase how Angel’s Envy’s finishing-forward philosophy can elevate both bourbon and rye in distinct and nuanced ways.

From port barrels to other distinctive secondary casks, Angel’s Envy delivers an elevated bourbon experience, whether served neat or in a cocktail. That balance between tradition and experimentation is what continues to set it apart in an increasingly crowded market.

Both expressions will be available nationwide beginning April 17, 2026, in highly limited quantities.

Martin and his team’s dedication to reinvention and bold experimentation make Angel’s Envy a bourbon rooted in tradition, elevated in craft, and reaching new heights with its most ambitious Cask Strength release to date.
