How do you get everyone to talk about the return of your dramatic banking series as it returns for its fourth make-or-break-it season? How about with a wedding announcement?
Industry star Myha’la started the week by announcing that she got married, and has been hitched for the better part of a year.
“Sos if this is how you’re finding out, promise we didn’t tell most everyone,” she wrote on Instagram. A carousel of photos shows her low-key ceremony with her longtime partner, Armando Rivera, with close family and friends in attendance. “Endlessly grateful to our friends and family for helping make this day so very magical,” she continued.
Now here’s where it gets interesting: the actress could have shared the news at any time over the past 365 days: Valentine’s Day, either of their birthdays, as a holiday treat. But instead chose to share it the week before Industry returns for its explosive fourth season.

The couple could have mentioned it at the Thom Browne fashion show during New York Fashion Week last year, where a presumed wedding ring was prominently on display on the actress’s ring finger.
Myha’la met her betrothed during the COVID pandemic. Rivera, then a college student, slid into the actress’s DM to praise her work on Industry, which had just launched in 2020, and asked if he could contact her for a journalism project. Not one to keep their relationship a secret, the two have been regularly photographed together at events over the past five years.
Neither felt the need nor pressure to announce their 2025 union as a cultural milestone. And since the first year of marriage is often considered one of the hardest, getting it behind you without outside critique makes sense.
They chose instead to keep their private life private until they felt ready to share it with the world. And if that coincides with the return of your streaming series, that’s just smart timing.
Industry returns for its fourth season on January 11 on HBO.
