A new tennis star is born! Pro-athlete Naomi Osaka and longtime boyfriend Cordae recently welcomed a baby girl into the world. Making the announcement of the pregnancy earlier this year, this is the first child for the couple, and they are both elated.
“They are doing well,” a source told People.
Generally a private person, Osaka only gave small glimpses into her pregnancy. Her last post gave fans a peek into her pink and purple themed baby shower, in early June. But, it was the initial sonogram post that allowed the four-time grand slam champion to open up about this new chapter of life.
“I realize that life is so short, and I don’t take any moments for granted, every day is a new blessing and adventure. I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, ‘that’s my mom,’ haha,” Naomi Osaka said in the post. “I don’t think there’s a perfectly correct path to take in life, but I always felt that if you move forward with good intentions, you’ll find your way eventually.”

The two lovebirds, both 25, officially began dating back in 2018. According to them, their first real date was to an LA Clippers game, where they actually almost didn’t find each other due to the crowd.
Supports her during 2020 US Open
Cordae cheered his lady on in the stands of the 2020 US Open, where Osaka also claimed the win. Videos of the rapper proudly clapping for Osaka in between sets made its rounds on the internet. It was one of the first times the world saw how adorable they were as a pair.
Turning heads at the 2021 Met Gala
The world really saw their love on full display when they popped out together during the 2021 Met Gala. At that time, Osaka was a co-chair for the event, and her boo supported her by being by her side on the red carpet that evening. That same year, they would also appear on the cover of GQ as part of the brand’s “Modern Lovers” spread.

While the relationship was very much public by this time, fans were able to get a more behind the scene look into their relationship in Osaka’s mini docuseries on Netflix. Cordae appeared in several scenes with the tennis pro, including those with her family.

While she kept most of her pregnancy journey private, she posed in her mother’s homeland—Japan—with her growing belly on full display. In early June, the couple shared sweet moments from their gender reveal, in which they announced they’d soon welcome a baby girl.
