Gizelle Bryant Achieves Divine Nine Milestone with Twin Daughters’ Inductions into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority

Gizelle Bryant has officially entered a very special and meaningful chapter of Black sorority life. The Real Housewives of Potomac star has not one, but two of her daughters standing by her side as members of the illustrious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the first African American sorority in the nation.

Her daughter, Adore, who became an AKA member this Spring during the highly anticipated probate season, took her newly minted soror status one step further. She recreated her mom’s iconic 1990 AKA initiation photo, wearing the same style of outfit, complete with a pink bag and a green beret.

Making it even more meaningful, Adore is attending her mom’s alma mater, Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia, and was initiated into the same chapter as her mom, Gamma Theta. Adore’s twin sister, Angel, officially crossed into the Mu Pi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at Spelman College in November 2025.

In Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and across the broader Divine Nine community, having your daughters follow in your footsteps is a symbolic milestone for any proud Soror. Guiding your child toward a path of service and sisterhood is one of the greatest gifts you can extend to her as she grows into her full potential. The sorority celebrates this legacy bond with parades and luncheons, where mothers and daughters often dress alike as they strut the yard.

But legacy isn’t limited to mother and daughters. Joyce Veronica is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In a recent post, this proud Delta mom shared that her two sons are now both members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., allowing her to pass on her tradition of service as they begin to benefit from being part of this historic brotherhood.

Veronica reflected on being asked whether she ever felt she had missed out on having daughters to carry her DST torch. She wrote that legacy isn’t about gender: it’s about what you build and teach so your children can carry those values forward.

For this writer, I, too, make up a legacy trio. My mom, sister, and I are all long-standing devoted members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

So congrats to Gizelle and her daughters, and Joyce and her sons. May they someday, too, feel the glory their moms have felt through their own children, who will undoubtedly continue the legacy.
